Same era, different paths and we became friends.

It’s hard to believe that I’ve been at my job for almost two years now. Time really flies! During this period, I’ve had the chance to meet some amazing people, including two friends who are both my age. We always said we should get together more often, but somehow, we never managed to do it—until now. This was the first time the three of us finally sat down for dinner together.

Even though it was our first official hangout, the conversation flowed easily. Maybe it’s because we’re all at similar points in life, navigating the ups and downs of work and daily adult responsibilities. We didn’t dive into deep discussions about dreams or future goals; instead, we kept it light, sharing funny stories from work and laughing about the little challenges that come with being young professionals.

What struck me most was how relatable our experiences were, even though we work in different departments. There’s something comforting about being with people who understand the small struggles of everyday life. We didn’t need to talk about big aspirations to feel connected; we simply enjoyed being in the moment together.

This dinner reminded me of the value of friendships in our everyday lives, especially as we approach the two-year mark at work. It’s reassuring to know that, while we’re all on different paths, we can still find common ground in our shared experiences.

The food was great, but the company made it even better. I’m grateful for these friendships and the lightheartedness they bring to my life. I hope we can make more time to meet up in the future, because it’s these small moments that help make everything feel a little more manageable.
